Living a great life in God's grace! (I've reached my 30th blog!)

Image
Merry Belated Christmas everyone! I have reached my 30th blog, this calls for a celebration! Looking back at when I started I never knew what direction this blog would end up in but when I tell you how God just took over and provided me with the content, it is truly amazing! I'm telling you when you are really working in your gifting things in your life will start to flow easily and you will start to prosper in that area. This was one of the lessons I taught the youth at my church one Friday evening at Youth Night and now I'm telling you guys! I want each and everyone of us (including myself) to start living out our full potential and it is only by the grace of God and discovering what is given to us is when we will be able to live a successful and purpose-filled life. My Pastor once said in one of his sermons that there is no life, destiny, future that will ever be greater than the level of grace that is given to you. Our capacity cannot be greater than the grace given to us b...

Grace unfolded

What is Grace? I'm sure you guys have heard of it whether you are a Christian believer or not but a lot of us (even Christians) have a misconception on what it truly means and what it looks like to walk in God's grace within our lives.  Here is the basic definition of what Grace is :    The Grace of God is a gift that is not worked for but is freely given. There are different ways that God's grace can be applied to our lives but we are going to focus on the grace of salvation. The grace of salvation means that no matter what mistakes you have done in your past life of sin, once you sincerely repent, the grace of God will take away the punishment and guilt and replace it with love. The love of God is like no other because it is everlasting and will not be taken away from you even when you mess up, you will still be able to reconcile and return back to Him.  " In him, we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of G...

How to Choose Joy ( 8 practical steps)

Image
In my previous blog, I shared my testimony of how I overcame depression and mentioned that in the process I had to make the decision to choose joy. I realized as some of you reached out to me, that I needed to fully explain how I did that because for some it might have read as a simple thing to say but you're wondering how I actually did it. For this exact reason, I wanted to make a follow-up blog on the steps that I took to choose joy.      Choosing joy is not an easy task to do, in fact, I would say it's even harder than being sad, which is why I am going to emphasize that this is not an overnight transformation. So, if you choose to follow these steps just know it's not a one-time thing to do and expect results but a thing that you need to continually do because it is a process. Now, let's get to it, how do you choose joy?      1. Realize that it is a choice  I would say the first step to choosing joy is coming to the realization that it is a CHOICE...

My Testimony: How I Overcame Depression

Image
I'm going to admit that this blog is one of the hardest blogs I have ever made but the Lord said to testify of His wonderful works. So, here I am testifying about the goodness of God because he delivered me from depression, which is a mood disorder that affects the lives of so many today. For this reason, I believe that God is calling me to share my testimony so that it can be an encouragement for others to never give up and to turn to God because he is a merciful Father that cares for our well-being. Honestly, I never would have made it without him.      Looking back over  my life, I have come to realize that deliverance just like healing is a process and that there is a time and place for that deliverance to happen. I have also realized that there is a season for everything we go through, which ecclesiastics 3 so greatly explains. We gain our life experiences through these different seasons of our lives but just like these seasons our experiences change; howe...

Find out FOUR benefits of forgiveness

Image
"Forgiveness is such a beautiful thing, it will  set you free." Those were the last words I wrote to someone in an email two years ago after having a dream in which the Lord revealed to me that I needed to forgive in order to spiritually grow. It's what I would consider one of the hardest things I had to write in my life to someone who hurt me and the rest of my family for the longest time. However, taking those steps excelled my healing and growth process and that is something I will never regret because from that single action I invested into my future happiness and blessings.  The Lord calls us to forgive one another no matter how badly the person hurt us because how can we expect him to forgive us when we cannot forgive each other? God forgave us not for his benefit but for ours and, likewise, when we forgive one another we benefit from it.  Here are four ways that we can benefit from forgiving: 1. Forgiveness grants you Salvation  Not only do we have salv...

Back to my Birthplace....Calgary!

Image
Downtown Calgary Yep this is the city where my life started... good cold Calgary (lol)! It's been such a long time since I've been back to this place to properly remember it but it was great to see my aunts, cousins and especially my dear grandmother. With that said, I had such a great time visiting family and seeing the beautiful scenery that Alberta had to offer. The sceneries were so breathtaking that I thought "hmmm le me share it with my viewers"! So, I hope you guys enjoy this picture gallery of Banff, Lake Louise and the landscapes of Alberta. :) The scenery is so beautiful that it even looks fake but TRUST me I'm not standing in front of a green screen. This picture was taking in Banff. I really recommend you guys go there and visit and go on the gondola so that you too can see this beautiful scenery of the mountains! It just makes me think about how wonderful God's creation truly is... Banff, Alberta Lake Louise Drumheller, Alberta ... And of course ...

The Everlasting Well

Can you water these dry bones With milk and honey I tried to find peace But there isn't any Trying and trying and trying again To sooth my soul And the thirst within me I tried to find it in the world But it's all temporary  Trying and trying and trying again To fill this void Can you hear me? You answer...  Yes, I will water your dry bones Not with milk and honey  But w ith the living water that is in all plenty Because it will never run dry                                     ~ Star A lot of us try so hard to be successful in this lifetime and forget that this life is temporary. We live in a society where we are taught to go after the next best thing and to keep reaching and wanting more and more. We are told that it's normal to be like this, to always be wanting because that's how you get more successful. But what they never tell you is the lack of peace that comes with constant...
